How to make Simple and Effective To-Do list

Making a to-do list might be a difficult task for a few of us. We might miss out on a task or ignore a few things considering it’s not essential. These overlooked tasks might pile up and make us feel frustrated when we look at the number of checklisted  tasks at the end of the day. So, I came up with a new way of making a to-do list.

Things Required:
  • Whiteboard
  • Whiteboard marker
  • Color Magnet
Consider that everything starts with you and put your name in the middle. Step1_TheCreative_Insight.png

List down the divisions based on the main element. For example, all subjects are my main categories as I’m a student.
Step2_TheCreative_Insight.png

Subdivide the task further based on your needs. For example, each subject has a list of assignments considered as subdivisions. To simplify each task, you could further divide it. For example, I have divided each assignment into smaller parts. Step3_TheCreative_Insight.png
Draw a circle and divide it into sub-parts; in each part, you got to complete one task. (Note: Make sure you give enough time for each section). In my case, I have divided my day into eight parts, putting together 3 hrs as one part.  Step4_TheCreative_Insight.png
Analyze active and lazy hours of your day and color it with that color in your wall of time. For example, my active hours are from morning 3 am to 9 am, lazy hours are 3 pm to 9 pm, and the rest are considered moderate hours. So, I have colored 3 am to 9 am as green, 9 am to 3 pm as orange and 3 pm to 9 pm as red. You might have a different pattern all together like 3 am to 6 am as active,6 am to 9 am as lazy,9 am to 3 pm as moderate,3 pm to 6 pm as active and 6 pm to 9 pm as lazy. Step5_TheCreative_Insight.png

Place magnets near the tasks. The number of magnet pins taken should be equal to the number of parts you have made on the wall of time.Based on the potential of the hour, you can assign the tasks. (Note: if you consider a task requires more time than allotted, you can have two magnets on the same task.)
Step7_TheCreative_Insight.png

Once the assigned tasks are completed, place the magnets back in place on the wall of time. Completed wall of time makes you feel happy, releasing dopamine in you, which will boost your productivity.
Step7_TheCreative_Insight.png

Add tasks and erase a few the night before based on your requirement. Assign a new set of tasks by placing the magnets next to it.
